| Starring: Rie Miyazawa, Tetsunojo Kanze A stop motion puppet animation film set in a time when Buddhism was first being introduced to Japan, The Book of the Dead tells the story of Princess Iratsume, a devoted Buddhist. When she sees an image she believes is the Buddha. she leaves her home and walks to the foot of the mountain, where she is visited every night not by Buddha, but by the ghost of Otsu (Kanze), a long-dead prince with a legendary connection to one of her ancestors.
